Terraforming Mars: The Space Strategy and Colonization Game
Humanity needs a new home. Will you be the architect of this miracle?
In Terraforming Mars, it's the 2400s. You play as one of the powerful global corporations commissioned by the World Government to transform Mars. Your mission is titanic: increase the temperature, create a breathable atmosphere, and generate oceans.
The concept? A colossal hand management and engine building game. You play projects (represented by over 200 unique cards) to develop your production of energy, steel, titanium, plants, or money, while placing forests and cities on the Mars map.
Why Terraforming Mars is an absolute masterpiece:
-
Credible scientific immersion: Each card is based on real scientific or prospective concepts. From importing greenhouse gases to creating dome cities, everything seems possible and coherent.
-
Total strategic freedom: With hundreds of different cards, no two games are alike. Will you focus on asteroid mining, developing microscopic algae, or building massive urban infrastructures?
-
A gratifying power curve: You start with limited resources, and after two hours of play, you proudly contemplate a board covered with greenery and oceans. It's one of the most satisfying games on the market.
-
Competition and Indirect Cooperation: Although you strive to be the most influential corporation (victory points), everyone works towards the common goal: completing the terraformation. The game ends when all three global parameters (Oxygen, Temperature, Oceans) are at maximum.
