Forge Your Path, Block Theirs: The Link Battle!

In Linkx, the objective is clear: be the first to create an uninterrupted path connecting two opposite sides of the board. But beware, your opponent has the exact same goal on the perpendicular axis! It's a fierce struggle where every piece placed serves as much to advance your own progress as it does to erect barricades.

The concept? A tile-laying game (often Tetris-like shapes) within a limited frame, where the overall vision is crucial.

The two victory conditions in Linkx:

  • The Ultimate Connection: The first player who manages to connect one edge to the other with a chain of pieces of their color immediately wins the game. This is the tactical "coup de grâce."

  • The Area Battle: If the board is completely filled without any path being completed (mutual blocking), points are counted. The player with the largest contiguous area (the largest group of touching squares of their color) is declared the winner.

Why Linkx is a strategic gem?

  • Dual Objective: You must constantly monitor two fronts. Should you rush to create your path or expand to secure an area victory?

  • Shape Management: The pieces fit together. Choosing the right shape to insert into a small space while blocking the opponent's path requires keen spatial analysis.

  • Increasing Tension: The more the frame fills, the more options shrink. Every empty square becomes a crucial stake for the survival of your path.

  • Tactile Material: The pleasure of manipulating the pieces and seeing them fit perfectly into the frame makes for a very satisfying experience.
