If you draw an Exploding Kitten, you lose... unless you have a Defuse Kit!

The concept of Exploding Kittens is remarkably simple: players take turns drawing cards until one of them draws an Exploding Kitten. If they don't have a "Defuse Kit" card (like laser pointers or catnip sandwiches), they explode and are out of the game. All other cards in the deck are used to avoid exploding... or to force others to do so in your place.

The goal of the game? To be the last one standing around the table.

A "Rising Tension" and "Dirty Trick" mechanic

  • Managing the Draw Pile: The further the game progresses, the fewer cards are left in the deck, and the higher the probability of drawing an exploding kitten. The tension becomes palpable!

  • Action Cards:

    • Pass your turn: To avoid drawing.

    • Attack: To force the next player to draw twice.

    • See the future: To secretly look at the top three cards of the draw pile.

    • Favor: To force an opponent to give you one of their cards.

  • The Strategic Defuse Kit: If you defuse a kitten, you choose where to secretly place it back in the deck. Right on top to trap your neighbor? In the middle to buy time? That's where the bluff begins.

  • The Oatmeal's Humor: Matthew Inman's illustrations are absurd and hilarious ("Watermelon Cat", "Unicorn Pig"...), making each card fun to discover.

Why Exploding Kittens is a must-have?

  • Quick Games: 15 minutes flat. You chain revenges non-stop.

  • No downtime: You monitor every opponent's action, because you can often play "Nope!" cards to cancel their moves.

  • Easy to transport: A small box that slips everywhere, ideal for holidays, train rides, or aperitifs.

  • Crazy Expansions: You can add even more twisted mechanics with Imploding Kittens (the imploding kitten), Streaking Kittens or Barking Kittens.

Technical specifications:

  • Number of players: 2 to 5 players (up to 10 by combining two boxes)

  • Age: From 7 years old

  • Game duration: 15 minutes

  • Game type: Party, Chance, Bluff, Elimination
