Cryptid – The Deduction and Creature Hunting Game
Will you be able to track down the creature before your rivals?
In Cryptid, you play as passionate cryptozoologists searching for a legendary creature hidden somewhere on the map. The problem? Each player holds only one piece of the puzzle. To win, you'll need impeccable logic and keen observation skills.
The goal of the game? Be the first player to pinpoint the exact square where the Cryptid is hiding by cross-referencing clues from all other participants.
Cryptid Game Mechanics
The game is based on an ingenious system of shared elimination and deduction:
-
A unique clue: At the start of the game, each player receives a secret clue (e.g., "The creature is in a forest or a mountain").
-
The interrogation: On your turn, ask an opponent a question by pointing to a square. They must answer honestly by placing a token: a cube if the creature cannot be there according to their clue, a disc if it could be.
-
The search: Observe the answers given to other players to guess their secret clues and reduce the possibilities on the board.
-
The expedition: If you think you've found the hiding place, launch an expedition. If all clues match, victory is yours!
