Colt Express – The 3D Strategy and Programming Game
Plan the heist of the century... if your accomplices let you!
In Colt Express, you embody one of six outlaws (each with a special ability) determined to rob the train's passengers. But beware, the Marshall is patrolling and your "colleagues" have no intention of sharing the loot. The game unfolds in two phases: first you plan your actions, then you watch the chaos unfold!
The objective of the game? Be the richest bandit at the end of the journey by collecting purses, jewelry, and the Marshall's precious briefcase.
A "Programming" and "Memory" Mechanic
The gameplay is divided into two main parts:
-
Planning (Schemin'): Players play cards (move, climb on the roof, shoot, punch, steal) into a common pile. Sometimes you see other players' cards, sometimes they are played face down (in the tunnels!).
-
Action (Stealin'): The pile is revealed and actions are executed in order. This is where everything goes wrong: if you planned to rob a passenger but an opponent punched you just before, you switch wagons and your "Steal" action is performed in the void... or on the Marshall!
-
Gunshots: Getting shot doesn't kill you, but adds useless "Bullet" cards to your deck, polluting your hand for subsequent turns.
-
Sharpshooter Title: The player who fires the most bullets receives a $1000 bonus at the end!
Why is Colt Express a must-have?
-
Visual Impact: The 3D cardboard train is magnificent and immediately catches the eye on a table.
-
Laughter and Chaos: You can never control everything. Seeing your brilliant plan collapse because you ended up on the roof at the wrong time is always hilarious.
-
Fast-paced Rhythm: Turns follow quickly, there's no downtime.
-
Epic Expansions: You can add stagecoaches, horses, or even a DeLorean with the Horses & Stagecoach or Marshal & Prisoners expansions.
