Catan: Explorers & Pirates – The Exploration and Adventure Expansion

The horizon is limitless!

In Pirates & Explorers, you are no longer stuck on a single island. You start on a main island, but very quickly, you'll need to build harbors and send your ships to explore the unknown areas of the board. Unlike the Seafarers expansion, here your ships are not "roads on water": they are true mobile units that transport settlers, crews, and goods.

The goal of the game? Accumulate victory points by completing missions in different scenarios (pirate battles, fishing, spice trading).

Four major innovations that change everything:

1. Mobile Ships: Move your ships each turn using movement points. You can explore new face-down terrain tiles!

2. Missions: The game offers 5 evolving scenarios. You'll have to capture pirate lairs, deliver fish to the Catan Council, or trade spices with distant villages.

3. Compensation Gold: Finally, a solution against bad luck! If the dice don't give you anything on your turn, you receive a gold coin. Two gold coins can be exchanged for the resource of your choice.

4. No "Longest Road": This expansion replaces some classic mechanics with scoring tracks linked to missions, making the game much more dynamic and narrative.
