The harmony between land and animals

In Cascadia, you travel to the Pacific Northwest to create a thriving habitat. The game offers a two-level challenge: you must not only arrange habitat tiles (mountains, rivers, prairies) to create vast homogeneous areas, but also place wildlife tokens (bears, eagles, salmon, foxes, elk) according to very precise breeding patterns.

The goal of the game? Get the best score by combining the size of your habitats and meeting the "Objective" cards for each animal species.

A Simple and Cruel "Draft" Mechanic

Cascadia's gameplay is exceptionally fluid:

  • Choosing the Duo: On your turn, you must choose an inseparable "pair": a habitat tile AND the animal token associated with it in the central reserve. Sometimes the tile is perfect for you, but the animal is useless... or vice versa!

  • Free Placement: Unlike Carcassonne, you don't have to match tile edges. You build your puzzle as you see fit, which reduces frustration and increases possibilities.

  • Wildlife Score Cards: Each animal scores points differently: salmon want to form a long line, bears want families of two, eagles want to be isolated to observe their surroundings...

  • Nature Tokens (Pinecones): These allow you to "refresh" the reserve or choose a tile and an animal that are not paired. A rare resource to be spent sparingly!

Why Cascadia is a must-have?

  • Zero Stress, 100% Pleasure: It's a very "zen" game. You don't get attacked, you build your little piece of paradise.

  • Immense Replayability: The game offers several objective cards for each animal. You can change the scoring rules in each game!

  • Excellent Solo: Cascadia offers a very successful solo mode with scenarios and challenges to complete.

  • Material Quality: Silkscreened wooden tokens and magnificent naturalist illustrations by Beth Sobel.
