Kingdomino – The Essential Tile-Laying Game
Expand your kingdom, but keep an eye on your neighbors!
In Kingdomino, each player embodies a Lord seeking land to expand their kingdom. You must explore wheat fields, lakes, mines, or forests to identify the best territories. The system is crystal clear: you choose a "Domino" tile from a common draw, then connect it to your castle or to a tile with at least one common landscape.
The goal of the game? To create the largest possible areas of identical landscapes, while including crowns (point multipliers) in them.
A cunning "Tile Drafting" mechanic:
-
Tactical Choice: Tiles are numbered on the back. The more powerful a tile (with crowns), the higher its number. If you take the best tile this turn, you will choose last in the next turn. A perfect balance between immediate power and future priority.
-
The 5x5 Constraint: Your kingdom cannot exceed a 5x5 square. Each placement error can prevent you from placing your last tiles and cause you to lose valuable points.
-
Simple Point Calculation: $\text{Number of squares in a landscape} \times \text{Number of crowns}$. It's visual, quick, and rewarding.
-
Speed and Fluidity: A game is completed in 15 minutes. It's the perfect "aperitif" or family game.
Why is Kingdomino in every game library?
-
Universal Accessibility: You can play it with 8-year-olds as well as with your grandparents. Everyone understands the domino principle.
-
Unexpected Depth: For experienced players, the game becomes a very tense placement and blocking duel.
-
Quality Material: Thick, glossy, and beautifully illustrated tiles that withstand hundreds of games.
-
The Family is Growing: If you love the concept, you can move on to Queendomino (more complex), Kingdomino Origins (prehistoric) or Dragomino (for toddlers).
