Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion – Adventure and Tactical Combat Game

The elite mercenaries are out!

You embody one of the four mercenaries of the "Jaws of the Lion," an elite squad hired to investigate mysterious disappearances in the city's underworld. Unlike its big brother, this game uses the scenario book as a board, saving you hours of cardboard tile setup.

The goal of the game? Survive a 25-scenario campaign by advancing your character, upgrading your equipment, and unlocking the plot's secrets.

A "Euro-Tactical" combat mechanic without dice:

• Card Management: Each turn, you play two cards. You must choose the top part of one and the bottom part of the other. It's a constant mental puzzle: how to attack while moving and preparing for the next turn?

• The Progressive Tutorial: This is the genius of this box. The first 5 scenarios teach you the rules step-by-step. You start with simplified cards and gradually increase the complexity of the game as you progress.

• Attack Modifiers: No dice here! To simulate luck, we use a deck of modifier cards ($-1$, $+1$, $\times2$...). You can improve this deck throughout the campaign to become a true killing machine.

• Exhaustion: If you run out of cards in hand or discard pile, your character is exhausted and leaves the fight. Time management is as crucial as brute force.

• Accessibility: It's the best way to get into the Gloomhaven universe. Once finished, you'll know 95% of the original game's rules.

• Narrative Immersion: Each scenario is introduced by atmospheric texts and choices that influence the continuation of the story.
