Faraway – Exploration, Planning, and Reverse Scoring
Faraway is a strategic card game in which players explore the mysterious continent of Alula by building a line of Region cards in front of them. In each turn, everyone chooses a card from their hand and adds it to their line, simulating a journey of adventure and discovery through different territories.
Each card presents conditions to fulfill to earn fame points. The game's originality comes from its reverse scoring system: once the card line is completed, points are calculated from right to left, forcing players to anticipate their future placements from the start of the game.
The simultaneous card selection mechanic and the priority system add a tactical dimension, as being the last to choose limits the available options in subsequent turns.
Accessible in minutes but rich in decision-making, Faraway combines planning, anticipation, and strategy over short games (around 25 minutes), ideal for regular sessions with family or friends.
