Croak! – The Strategy and Memory Game for Kids
Jump, explore, and don't get eaten!
In Croa!, each player leads a colony of frogs (a Queen and her Servants) on a 64-tile face-down board representing a pond. With each jump, you flip a tile: will you land on a delicious mosquito to play again, on a male to expand your family, or worse... on the fearsome Pike that will make short work of you?
The goal of the game? Eliminate opposing Queens or be the last player with frogs still in the pond.
A clever "Memory and Movement" mechanic
-
Blind Exploration: At the beginning, the pond is a mystery. Every jump is a risk. But once the tiles are revealed, the game becomes a pure tactical duel where memory is your best ally.
-
The Queen's Power: Your Queen is precious. If she dies, you lose the game (or your servants become orphans depending on the variant). She can lay eggs to create new frogs!
-
Special Tiles:
-
Lily Pads: Allow you to jump further.
-
Tree Trunks: Safe zones.
-
Mud: Blocks your frog for one turn.
-
-
Direct Interaction: If you jump onto an opponent's frog's space, you eliminate it. Simple, effective, and a bit cruel!
Why Croa! is a must-have for children?
-
Strategy Learning: It's an excellent introduction to anticipation. You learn not to leave your Queen unprotected.
-
Quality Material: The colorful plastic frog figurines are very sturdy and pleasant for little hands to manipulate.
-
Evolutive: The game offers several rule variants (with or without males, team mode) to adapt to players' ages.
-
Zero downtime: Games are quick (around 15-20 minutes) and you always want a rematch.
