Field of Honor – The Military Strategy and Tactics Game
The art of war in the palm of your hand
In Field of Honour, you play as a medieval warlord. Your goal is simple yet demanding: take control of key areas on the battlefield. To achieve this, you will recruit different units (archers, cavalry, pikemen, mercenaries...) represented by heavy tokens that you place in your cloth bag.
The goal of the game? Be the first to place all your control markers on the strategic locations on the board.
A Tactical "Bag-Building" Mechanic
Each turn is a dilemma between expansion and reinforcement:
-
The Draw: You draw 3 tokens from your bag. Each token can be used in several ways: to deploy the unit on the field, to reinforce it (stack tokens), or to order an already present unit to attack or move.
-
Unit Asymmetry: Each army is different. The Cavalry charges two squares, the Archer shoots from a distance, the Scout moves faster... It's up to you to choose the best combination of 4 units at the start of the game.
-
Bag Management: If you recruit too many different units, you risk never drawing the one you need at the right time. This is where the subtlety of the game lies.
-
Prestige Material: The tokens have a weight and a clink that make each manipulation extremely satisfying. It's a game that is as enjoyable to touch as it is to play.
Why Field of Honour is a masterpiece?
-
Streamlined and Deep: The rules can be learned in 10 minutes, but the room for improvement is infinite. You play it like chess, but with a degree of uncertainty linked to the bag draw.
-
Immense Replayability: With dozens of available units, each game configuration radically changes your approach to the field.
-
Formidable with 2, Epic with 4: The game shines in a duel, but also offers a very tactical team mode (2 against 2) where communication is limited.
-
Quality Expansions: Noblesse and Siege add fortifications and court units for even more variety.
