Ark Nova – The Modern Zoo Strategy and Management Game
Much more than just a zoo: a conservation mission!
In Ark Nova, you design and organize a modern zoological park with a scientific and ethical objective. Your mission: build enclosures, house animals from around the world, and support conservation projects to ensure species survival. The game stands out with its immense deck of over 200 unique cards, ensuring that no two games are ever alike.
The goal of the game? Grow your Appeal (to earn money) and your Conservation score (for scientific renown). The game ends when these two counters cross on the score track.
An innovative Action mechanic
The core of the game is based on a system of 5 action cards placed in a queue under your board:
-
The Power of Position: The further a card is to the right of the queue (position 5), the more powerful the action. Once used, the card returns to position 1. Therefore, you must plan the order of your moves to optimize each action.
-
Card Upgrades: Throughout the game, you can flip your action cards to their "Premium" side to unlock crucial bonuses (such as being able to draw more, or place rarer animals).
-
Tile Placement: Manage your park's space by placing enclosures of various sizes on a hexagonal board, while trying to cover terrain bonuses.
-
Association and Research: Send your workers to universities or partner zoos to unlock permanent bonuses and diplomacy abilities.
Why Ark Nova is a "Must-Have"?
-
A Strong and Real Theme: The game incorporates the real challenges of modern zoos (biodiversity protection, species reintroduction, scientific research).
-
A Rewarding Game Engine: Creating synergies between your cards and watching your park fill up is extremely satisfying.
-
